Gayle Storm steers Patriots to win the  ‘Universe Boss’ Trophy

The Final of the 6ixty Cricket League was one in which the Champions, ‘St Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ can look back and say that they got all aspects of Batting, Bowling and Fielding right.

They won the toss and chose to bowl. Their Bowling Unit got off to an incredible start, thanks to some precise bowling from Pacers, Duan Jansen and Dominic Drakes. They got the wickets of Big Hitters – Sunil Narine and Tion Webster within the First 2 Overs. After that the Trinbago Knight Riders steadied the ship thanks to Andre Russell and Tim Seifert, but in a moment of madness the West Indian got himself run out due to some impressive fielding by SKNP Captain Evin Lewis. With an incredible fielding effort and bowling by the Patriots the Knights were bowled out for 84 Runs with 3 Balls to Go.

After a Good Performance by the Bowlers, the Batsmen got off to a great start with Captain Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher. Everything was favoring the Patriots who were 53/0 going into the 5th Over. The tables turned when some incredible bowling by Andre Russell and Sunil Narine led to the Patriots losing Evin Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford and Dewald Brevis in quick succession.

The Patriots needed 27 runs in 28 deliveries with Andre Fletcher and Chris Gayle at the crease. Sunil Narine bowled an incredible spell further dominating the score board. As they approached the final overs, Chris Gayle was given lifelines by the Knights who dropped 2 catches. He then managed to score the match winning boundary and led the Patriots to victory.

This Victory wouldn’t have been possible without a perfect display across all parks by the Patriots, who fought for every run throughout this Final.
